Klotski is a sliding-block puzzle: a large 2x2 block is trapped among smaller blocks in a boxed frame, and you slide pieces around the single empty space to free the big block out through the bottom exit — in as few moves as possible.

1. Focus on creating and steering the empty space — every move is really about where the gap goes next.
2. Plan to rotate the smaller blocks out of the big block's path rather than shoving the big block blindly.
3. Work backwards from the exit: picture the final moves that slide the big block out, then build that setup.
4. Avoid undoing progress — it's easy to shuffle pieces in circles, so commit to a plan that nets forward movement.
5. If you're stuck, rearrange one small cluster rather than the whole board; often a single trapped block is the real blocker.
