Spider Solitaire is a patience game played with one, two or four suits. You build descending runs within ten columns, and a full King-to-Ace run of one suit is removed automatically. Clear all eight runs to win — the fewer suits, the easier.

Build sequences in the same suit whenever possible; mixed-suit piles can't be moved as a block or removed.
Empty a column early — empty columns are the most powerful resource for reshuffling stuck piles.
Don't deal a new row until you've made every useful move; dealing covers cards and adds clutter.
Before dealing, avoid leaving any column empty if you can — every column gets a card and empties are wasted.
Expose face-down cards as a priority; uncovering them is how you find the cards to complete suit runs.

Why can't I move a pile of cards?

Only cards in a descending same-suit sequence move together. A run that switches suits breaks the block, so you can only move from the last suit-consistent card.

Is one-suit Spider much easier?

Yes — with a single suit every descending sequence is automatically same-suit, so far more layouts are winnable. Four-suit Spider is the hardest.
